History of excellence made in Italy
The history of Bamar began in 1977 and has been synonymous with roller shutter systems for over 40 years.
Thanks to the continuous technological evolution and the use of innovative materials, Bamar confirms to be in constant development by exporting all over the world and equipping the most prestigious yachts with its technology.
In June 2015 the Bamar brand was acquired by Soluzioni Meccaniche srl, which continues the development of the brand. Innovation is the hallmark of Bamar, which today is a leader in the field of on-board manoeuvring management systems, furling systems for sails, hydraulic and electrical systems and accessories.
Today, thanks to renewed collaborations with the most prestigious national and international shipyards, Bamar is “on board” with its roller shutter systems on: Mylius, Solaris, Swan, Grand Soleil, Vismara Marine, Amel, Baltic, Discovery Yacht, Perini Navi, MaxiDolphin, Sunreef Yachts, DVS Yachts, Southern Wind Shipyars.
From the smallest manual furlers to, literally, the largest sailing yacht in the world, passing through “standard” supplies for the most prestigious national and international shipyards that have chosen Bamar to equip their hulls. Bamar thus confirms that it has “literally” no production limits and is one of the world’s leading yachts in this field, able to meet all requirements.
The engineering department of Soluzioni Meccaniche today develops high-tech CAD projects and is committed to experimenting with new materials and solutions able to overcome any possible unforeseen navigation problems. The complex study of the materials and resistance of the components makes it possible to reduce weight and provide the project with a further guarantee of performance and safety. The validity of Bamar’s innovations is testified by the awards obtained in prestigious international venues and by tests at sea on racing boats that become extremely severe test benches. Finally, Bamar is the holder of the RollGen International Patent, the revolutionary system that allows to wrap unguided sails.
The latest “born” is GFSE8 which completes the range of self-aligning winders on spherical fulcrum flanged on deck. It is suitable for stays up to -30 and in “custom” version up to -40. It is made with the same functionality, materials and construction features of the entire existing range of yachts from 60′ to 100′. Compact in size, it also uses a planetary gearmotor able to obtain high performance and very low consumption with great efficiency. It is equipped with an easily accessible emergency clutch to wind in case of failure.
