Description

Garmin Marine has studied connection diagrams, according to the type of vessel and use, to simplify the work for the owner or the shipyard in the choice of the most suitable instrumentation. Today we see the connection diagrams of a sailing boat of 21 meters in two versions: cruise and regatta.

Garmin Marine – Sailboats – 70 feet

On an ocean sailboat of about 70 feet, about 21 meters, here is the ideal instrumentation that should not be missing on board. The boat has two wheelhouses and a large chart plotter.

Navigation – Exterior

  • Three GNX120 Screens on which you can view data such as speed, angle, apparent wind and much more from the wind station and the DST 800 through transducer that also provides depth and temperature data to the NMEA 2000 network.
  • The ECU 12 (Electronic Control Unit) is connected to the Reactor 40 autopilot and the GRF 10, angle sensor. The arm of the GRF 10 is connected to the rudder of the boat and transmits the rudder position information.
  • Two 12 inch GPSMAP 8412 multifunction GPSMAP 8412 with full HD touch screen. Equipped with advanced Garmin SailAssist features for sailing. With the SmartMode you can simultaneously change each screen of GPSMAP displays interfaced with each other at berth, cruise, fishing, anchorage.
  • Each 12-inch GPSMAP 8412 multifunction has its own GMI 20, 4-inch color LCD display control unit. The high level of contrast and the anti-reflection treatment allow an optimal daytime view.
  • GSD 24 is a digital fishfinder module that ensures exceptional visibility of the seabed in all conditions.
  • The AIRMAR B117 bronze feed-through transducer is ideal for high speeds. Ideal for fiberglass or wooden hulls, it is an 8-pin, 600W short shaft transducer with a depth of 800-1,200 feet (244-366 meters); an operating frequency of 50-200 kHz; a beam width of 45-12 degrees and an inclination of 0-7 degrees.

Navigation – Belowdeck

  • With a 24-inch 8424xsv GPSMAP 8424xsv in charting, managing navigation is a whole different matter. This tool is 360° integrated, enclosed in an ultra-sharp full HD touch screen. GPSMAP 8424 is equipped with a high-performance processor to process maps at maximum speed. It also allows you to customize screens, data and indicators. Everything is designed to allow the user to access quickly, with a single gesture, at all times.
  • In the owner’s cabin there is also a display with intuitive 7 inch anti-glare touchscreen to have the boat under control even when you are resting, without the need to get up and go to the cockpit. Thanks to the full compatibility with the Garmin Marine Network, you can connect fishfinder images, maps, user data and much more with the different units connected.

Safety

  • The AIS 800 is a transceiver that gives you a better understanding of what’s around us when we sail. With this tool you can display on your chartplotter the AIS (Automatic Identification System) class B/SO data of the surrounding vessels with all the identification information and data related to position, course and speed as well as send your own. It goes without saying that in terms of safety such an instrument is essential. In this configuration it has an external antenna connector (AIS 800 also includes an integrated GPS).
  • A VHF 315i with modular system designed for boats where it is possible (and sometimes necessary) to have a station with multiple communication stations or on boats where there is no space to install a traditional VHF in the console. This system is connected to the GA 38 antenna, as well as the Active Speaker and two GHS 11i units (one for each of the two wheelhouses), a compact and robust, fully waterproof handset.
Optional
  • An additional 16-inch multifunctional screen can be added if desired. Equipped with premium 16-inch widescreen multitouch display is Full HD and can be installed either flush or flush.Garmin Marine has studied connection diagrams, according to the type of vessel and use, to simplify the work for the owner or the shipyard in the choice of the most suitable instrumentation.
