Bali 4.4

Description

Bali 4.4: elegant, innovative and spacious

The Bali 4.4 is the latest model from Bali Catamarans, fitting directly between the 4.2 and 4.6 models. It possesses all the innovative features that distinguish Bali catamarans: from the rigid forward cockpit with lounge area and sundeck, aft platform connecting the hulls with large bench and lockers, “BALI” overhead door, sliding side windows, the door giving access to the forward cockpit, and finally the flybridge with panoramic lounging area accessible from both sides.

Exteriors

The design of the hulls is renewed, with fine bows and elegant lines signed by Xavier Fäy and Samer Lasta. Designers worked to lower the boom so as to increase sail area for better performance and easier maneuvering. The forward cockpit has been “extreme,” all available space has been ponted. So not only does it increase the usable space even more (on average, a Bali has 15 to 20 percent more floor area than a cat with traditional lay out) but there is also a technical benefit. In fact, the catamaran becomes 100% monolithic, and thus the torsion between the two hulls is completely zeroed out. In addition, in the case of a formed sea, the wave does not fringe in the net, and therefore the bows do not point into the wave, but going under the closed part tends to push the bows upward: in short, they peck less and have drier sailing (the wave fringing in the net , crossing it , produces splashes on the nacelle). Finally, the enclosed bow gives us a true forward cockpit that is notable not only for its width but also in the case of berthing in port for its privacy (you are protected from view from the dock by the nacelle).

Interior

Bali Catamarans’ new model, which falls between the 4.2 and 4.6, is clearly an important token for the charter market, but it has solutions that can also appeal greatly to the private yachtsman who is almost looking for a beach house. In fact, the 4.4 has like the other models an enclosed bow with a forward cockpit and a very large sunbathing area. The access door to the bow and the aft opening with the overhead door give plenty of useful, walkable space, also making the Bali 4.4’s dinette unique, like all Bali catamarans. The 4.4 benefits from all the Catana Group’s latest ideas in space organization: the rigid forward cockpit with lounge area and sundeck, the aft connecting platform between the hulls with large bench and lockers, the “BALI” overhead door between inside and outside, the sliding side windows, the door giving access to the forward cockpit, and finally the flybridge with panoramic lounging area accessible from both sides. Also of interest are some numbers regarding the catamaran’s potential range in terms of water and fuel: the tanks, which can accommodate 800 liters of water and 800 liters of fuel, along with the 615-liter refrigerator ensure autonomy even when sailing longer than normal. A detail that is by no means unimportant on a cruising craft and allows you to not have to depend too much on ports during your boating vacation.
