A perfect mix of luxury and performance
The GS 42 LC’s hull, designed once again by Marco Lostuzzi, guarantees great stability thanks to greater hull volume. The well-proportioned sail plan optimizes the high-performance sailing standards. As with the rest of the Long Cruise range, the Grand Soleil 42 LC is designed to provide greater and more luxurious comfort on board. All the lines run below the deck and are led to the steering position for easier handling and manoeuvring of the boat. The standard version is characterised by the two aft benches; which provide extra storage spaces. The in-mast furling system for the mainsail and the self-tacking jib with recessed tracks simplify the control of the boat. Thanks to the carbon arch, the cockpit has more space for relaxing and gives greater support for the bimini top and the sprayhood.
Grand Soleil 42LC: large areas to enjoy the sea
The deck layout has been designed with flush portlights, while the carbon bowsprit is designed to fly both the gennaker and the Code 0, and has an integrated support for the anchor. The deck layout is characterised by a jib furler recessed below deck, and a hydraulic stern platform. The wide side-decks take you from aft to bow with ease, the coach roof area forward of the mast providing a great place to lounge on the sunbeds.
The sport version does not include the cockpit arch and the aft seats for the helmsman. This layout includes a few differences in the boat equipment and fitting. The mainsail has a fixed point in the cockpit for the sheet and two longitudinal tracks are fitted on deck to accommodate a 106% jib. The taller mast is equipped with rod rigging (replacing the wire rigging as in the standard version) and the backstay is hydraulic.
Grand Soleil 42LC: unrivalled design and details
The interior layout is available with either two or three cabins, to meet the client’s needs. Both versions include two heads with a shower. In the saloon, a three seater sofa is found on the starboard side, while the central seat can be transformed into a chart table. The L-shape galley is equipped with a main fridge and a optional second one, as well as many storage areas. In the three cabin version it is also possible to choose, for the aft starboard cabin, the V-shaped bed split into two single beds, designed in order to have the guests’ head oriented towards aft. The port aft cabin, maintains the classical layout with the double bed. The two cabin version features a wider galley, which offers increased space for storage and for an extra fridge. Below deck, everything is carefully considered to guarantee the level of comfort you would expect from a Long Cruise yacht. Thanks to the wide flush portlights, the interiors are airy and full of natural light. The attention to detail and the well-studied layout, create the perfect Long-Cruise environment.
