Description

Grand Soleil 42LC: a perfect blend of luxury and performance

The Grand Soleil 42 Long Cruise is the latest model in the Blue Water range dedicated to long-range cruising from Cantiere del Pardo. Comfort, large spaces on board, and autonomy in navigation are the hallmarks of this new twelve-meter hull, designed by Marco Lostuzzi in collaboration with Nauta Design and the technical department of Cantiere del Pardo.

The hull of the Grand Soleil 42LC, once again designed by Marco Lostuzzi, provides on the one hand high form stability thanks to generous volumes, and on the other hand high levels of performance guaranteed by a well-proportioned sail plan. Like its larger siblings in the Long Cruise range, the 42 LC is designed to offer maximum comfort and luxurious living on board. All maneuvering is deferred below deck to the helmsman’s station, characterized in the standard version by two benches inside which creates a natural storage space. Maneuvering is also simplified by the furling mainsail in the mast and the self-tacking jib with recessed rail. The carbon rollbar frees the large cockpit from clutter, leaving room for areas of complete relaxation, and also serves as support for the bimini and sprayhood.

The deck design then features flush-mounted portholes, a carbon dolphin locker for rigging gennaker or Code 0 and where the integrated anchor support is also located, an underdeck recessed furling, and an opening aft swim platform. Not to be forgotten are the wide walkways that allow agile movement aboard from the stern to the bow, where there is room for an additional relaxation area with a sundeck positioned between the mast and the end of the deckhouse.

Grand Soleil 42LC: unparalleled design and detailing

Regarding the layout of the interior, two versions will be available, one with two and one with three cabins (both configurations include two bathrooms with shower stalls) to meet the needs of owners as much as possible. The living room provides on the right a three-seat sofa of which the middle one can become a chart table.

The L-shaped kitchen is equipped with a capacious refrigerator and an optional second and ample storage space. In the three-cabin version, it is also possible to choose for the right aft cabin the option of a V-bed split into two single beds designed to have the head facing aft, while the left cabin retains the classic double bed layout. The two-cabin version provides a larger galley that allows for more storage space and the possible addition of another refrigerator. Below deck, everything is designed to ensure maximum comfort worthy of a Long Cruise boat. Large windows give a bright and airy look to the interior. Attention to detail and well-thought-out layout thus create the perfect atmosphere of a Long Cruise boat.
