Hallberg-Rassy 372

Named European Yacht of the Year among luxury cruisers

Compared to the Hallberg-Rassy 37, the Hallberg-Rassy 372 is only a few inches longer, is 2 inches wider, and has a fuller transom. The hull bodyis slightly lower and the keel slightly deeper and lighter. The stern and middle sections of the hull are flatter and the bow section sharper. The bow line is more pronounced. The modern sail plan is easy to handle. The yacht exudes graceful elegance.

Hallberg-Rassy is best known for its boats with center cockpits, but more than 5,800 of the 9,500 Hallberg-Rassys built to date have a cockpit aft. The aft cockpit of the 372 is new in every respect, designed by Frers, and is not based on the center cockpit of the Hallberg-Rassy 37.

Hallberg-Rassy 372 is a yacht that rivals the performance of sports boats in terms of speed and sailing performance, but at the same time is ideal for comfortable and fast family cruising. It will take you anywhere and in any season.

Modern sailing facility

The tree is 1.05 m taller than that of 37. The modern sail plan is designed for easy maneuverability, with a larger mainsail and low-overlap jib. There is also the possibility of a self-tacking jib rigging. A powerful backstay tensioner is fitted as standard. The mast has three tiers of quartered spreaders, with the upper shrouds coming out near the bow edge and the lower shrouds are positioned near the foresail. This allows easy passage to the deck, good possibilities for capping the headsail and ideal support for the mast. A code zero or optional gennaker can be rigged between the masthead and removable bowsprit.

Frers’ speed prediction chart indicates that the Hallberg-Rassy 372 is still faster than the 40, which is recognized as a fast yacht.

HALLBERG-RASSY 372 – UNDERWAY

Well-protected cockpit

The aft cockpit of the Hallberg-Rassy 372 is generous, and the leather-covered helm wheel is 122 cm in size. The rudder is directly connected for a precise navigation experience. The halyards are hidden under the deckhouse and are operated by two winches on the cockpit coaming, not on the outside chart tables. This solution makes it possible to implement sail steering with typical Hallberg-Rassy push-button paneling, with optional electric halyard and control winches, without interfering with the interior, even with a traditional, non- furling mainsail. There are two large teak exterior chart tables. It goes without saying that the cockpit is well protected by a windshield that blends perfectly with the lines of the yacht.

Clean and orderly deck layout

There are five large deck hatches, all mounted flush so that the glass is level with the deckhouse. The openings on the deck to the toilet and aft cabin are milk-colored to allow light in but not a view inside the cabin. The furler has the cylinder mounted below deck for clean deck lines. The optional electric windlass is also mounted below deck. The distance between the winch and the chain locker is essential for a self-recoiling chain and is achieved by the special design of the deck.
