Swan 601 Wohpe

Description

Swan 601 – Wohpe

This example of Swan 601 has triumphed in numerous regattas, such as the 2014 Rolex Swan Cup where it was the winner of the Swan 60 class, and has subsequently undergone a complete refit in 2016: it now has a new teak deck, and new paint. Wohpe is made entirely of carbon fiber for the hull and interior, and the result of this design is a truly competitive yacht without the restrictions of “stripped down” racers who make few concessions to cruising comfort. The owner has participated in numerous regattas with excellent results in the 2008 Swan Maxi Cup circuit in the Mediterranean, and has also completed anARC with non-sailing friends on board.

The Swan 601 is a yacht with a racer ‘ssoul that wants to retain the comforts of the cruiser, but prioritizing high performance, and in fact examples of the Swan 601 have often triumphed in major international regattas. Designed for high-speed offshore and inshore sailing, the Swan 601 was designed by Germán Frers and produced in seven examples between 2004 and 2007.

INTERIOR

The interior is designed with lightweight carbon floors lined with clear carbon that allow access to the bilge. The forward cabin has a double berth in the center, with drawers in the back of the bed; the bed and drawers are all fully removable for racing, if desired. Seating is provided on both sides aft of the bed. To starboard is a desk with a mirror under the lid, a removable stool, and a cabinet. On the port side is a private bathroom with shower, teak floor and stainless steel sink. The kitchen has ample work and storage space, countertops are black Corian, and equipment includes four gas stoves with ovens, stainless steel sinks, garbage container, and front refrigerator with top freezer (both DC).

A door leads to the two aft cabins, each cabin has a double V berth and also a “tube bunk” with an adjustable rope system attached to hooks in the ceiling, a seat and lockers. There is a removable panel for the starboard cabin to make it private from the chart area (which is between the two cabins).
