Swan 65

The Swan 65 is a modern, high-performance cruising yacht, perfectly designed for safe and comfortable cruising with family and friends, but equally capable of being used as a top-level racer. Designed by Germán Frers, this mid-size yacht enhances Nautor’s existing line of “performance bluewater” yachts, following the same design philosophy and parameters as its big sister, the Swan 78.

With its clever deck layout, the Swan 65 is suitable to be operated by a family crew with or without a professional skipper. The deck ergonomics also allow the Swan 65 to be operated efficiently with a full and competitive crew. The Swan 65 is designed for dynamic sailors seeking high quality, performance and flexibility without compromising comfort and safety. This multi-purpose yacht is perfectly equipped for racing, offshore cruising or a leisure stop, with the ability to upgrade racing options and customize the interior layout.

Swan 65 – Exterior

The Swan 65’s elegant proportions feature Frers’ unmistakable signature, while its high stern and low freeboard make it a true Swan of the bluewater breed. Stability and security. Its hull offers great stability and comfort at all speeds. The volumes are designed to make it well balanced and maintain a constant heeling angle, while the appendages incorporate the latest technologies from hydrodynamic studies. Various draft options. Offered in three different configurations, the keel, with its steel blade and lead bulb, contributes to exceptional stability. Optionally, telescopic lifting keel of 2.75-4.20 m without intrusion inside is available.

Efficiency and control. The rudder layout was designed with high performance in mind. Twin paddles reduce draft and provide complete control and balance, simplifying the maneuvering of the yacht.

All-around sailing ability and racing efficiency. Every design parameter of the Swan 65 is tailored to enable the yacht to meet the needs of its owner. The state-of-the-art sail plan offers all the advantages of the latest developments, such as positioning the mast aft with a J longer than the boom length, plus the added advantage of a structural bowsprit. The mast is integrated into the deckhouse, increasing the interior space below deck. The yacht sails well even in the lightest conditions, and the crew has the freedom to hoist various foresails whether racing or cruising on the high seas. The square top mainsail and optional flying shrouds, provide additional efficiency in racing.

Swan 65 – Blanket

“The deck has a modern design, clean surfaces, and simple, straightforward solutions for sail handling and life at sea”- says Germán Frers. New deckhouse. The windows on the 360-degree deckhouse is the latest evolution of Frers design, combining the curved lines and faceted surfaces of the beauty and elegance of the “S” (Semi-raised Saloon) and the FD (Flush Deck).

Two cockpit configurations. The cockpit is organized with a typical Swan layout. The guest area is located at the front and can be shaded by the large sprayhood and bimini. This area can be offered in two configurations: open and sporty, with seamless seating and a full-length table; or cozy and protected, with surrounding seating and an integrated sunbathing area.

The central cockpit area is optimized for short-range sailing. With five similarly sized motorized winches positioned near the two command posts, both a crew limited to two people and a full team of racers have sufficient space to run the yacht.

Optimized storage spaces. The Swan 65 has a large opening transom that accesses the tender garage, large enough to accommodate tenders up to 2.80 meters. The forepeak, accessed through a large hatch, has an extremely deep and large sail locker, which can be optionally converted into crew quarters with separate heads.

Swan 65 has all the comforts of a large sailing yacht. It has a dedicated guest cockpit with extra-long benches and a large central table (or transverse sunbathing area in the OA version). It also has several sunbathing areas: in the swim platform, aft cockpit, on the deckhouse and in the bow. The transom reveals a bathing platform that opens into direct contact with the sea

Interior

Offering various interior layout solutions, Swan 65 confirms its title as one of the most flexible yachts on the market. The European Oak finish and elegant design, well thought out for long journeys, have made Swan famous all over the world. The Swan 65 also sought to create the most comfortable living and sleeping area possible, emphasizing a simple, yet elegant design, without forgetting racing, where speed characteristics play a significant role.

Exclusive layouts. The interiors can be organized with two different layouts, with opposite positions for the cabins: Owner Forward and Owner Aft. In addition, various options are available for berth, crew quarters, and navigation arrangement. In both versions, alternative solutions for crew quarters are provided: forward, or forward of the galley. Both include separate areas. Spacious and intelligent living room. Swan 65 has a five-meter-long raised panoramic salon with dining area to port and salon to starboard. The salon connects directly to the kitchen and navigation station. Recessed under the floor in the deepest part of the hull, the systems and tanks remain easily accessible. A dinette or, optionally, a traditional chart table can also be offered.

The advantages of the OF version. In this version, the master cabin is located in the most accessible, but still quietest area of the boat. This room has everything you need for maximum comfort: a center island king-size bed, desk, walk-in closet and an impressive shower room. The elevated lounge makes the most of the panoramic windows. Twin aft guest cabins are offered in two layouts: two singles or one double bunk, each cabin has convertible bunks and separate shower.

The advantages of the OA version. This version is ideal for lovers of long-range cruising. Stable and protected under sail, the full-beam master cabin features ample space and a variety of stowage options. While offering ample stowage capacity, the forepeak can be converted into a crew cabin.

Design: the architect German Frers

Germán Frers created a concept of the Swan 65, inspired by the 1972 Sparkman & Stephens design: beautiful, reliable, comfortable and fast. “We tried to preserve its softness and harmony of previous models, avoiding extreme solutions. Swan 65 has a new aesthetic that is clean and modern, without being tied to a short-lived fashion” – says Germán Frers. Following the latest ocean racer trends, the Swan 65 belongs to Frers’ latest generation of hulls. It has more power and more volume. Performance and aesthetics. The highly prismatic bow profile allows smooth wave passage, while the powerful aft volumes ensure speed in stern swells and low drag in light air, all of which ensure maximum performance.
