Excess 14 is the pure embodiment of Excess DNA. It is the result of dedicated design work and industrial processing specific to the brand. It is a fun and enjoyable cruising sailboat with sleek lines.
Excess 14 – Interior
A 13.34 x 7.87 m catamaran (but the overall length varies from 13.97 to 15.99 m, depending on options and bowsprit) whose distinguishing feature is first and foremost in the interior layout. Especially the three-cabin owner’s version. In fact, in this layout, the owner’s stateroom on the starboard side has a large “dressing room” on the bow that can be converted into an extra cabin with two single beds. The four-cabin version has four bathrooms with separate shower stalls, with the possibility of using each of the four rooms as a crew cabin.
Exteriors
On deck is a large, brightly lit “skylounge” square (unburnished glass windows, a distinguishing feature of Excess) where the galley is housed to port, and forward of the ladder down below deck is the folding chart table. The design is, as always, taken care of for Excess by the VPLP Design studio (the same one that has designed ocean-going maxi trimarans like Banque Populaire, IMOCA 60 latest-generation flyers like Hugo Boss and Charal: not amateurs!). A clever mix of solutions to maximize livable space on deck while not betraying Excess’s “sporty” DNA.
