The water line design is by Studio Farr, and the exterior and interior design is by Lucio Micheletti. The Ice 66 RS will be built in glass/carbon sandwich with a full carbon deck.The boat will be a Raised Saloon, with the dinette raised to enjoy the panoramic deckhouse, the interior will be full-light with spaces comparable to a 21-meter.

But what kind of boat is the new ICE 66? Ice Yachts CEO Marco Malgara tells us: “We chose the best in the market to make a boat that is light, fast, competitive but also comfortable. With a futuristic design.” Hence the decision to connote the boat with a marked aesthetic element that defines it, the design of the deckhouse. Low on the deck as on mini maxis, with a smooth curve and an open 180-degree view around the boat, and with two pronounced paramare that protect the cockpit without altering the overall aesthetics. A classic Mediterranean cockpit dominates the deck with ample seating and four electric winches that control all maneuvers operated by even one person. Analyzing the preliminary numbers released by the shipyard, we read a projected displacement at 26 tons, no small goal for a boat that has an overall length of 20 meters and will be fully accessorized for maximum cruising comfort. On this medium-light displacement, quite a few horsepower will be working, considering the 276 square meters of sail area the boat will have upwind: to which will be added the more than 400 of the gennaker in the stern.
Interior
The interior promises to be a surprise. Micheletti says it will not be the usual sailboat. Due to the boat’s type, which is a raised saloon (raised saloon), it promises to derive significant space for a 19-meter boat. The classic 3-cabin, 3-bathroom option is complemented by 4-cabin, 4-bathroom options with adequate space for crew and children, with due privacy. “I tried to stay clean without adding anything that is not useful and functional, for the exterior,” explained Micheletti, “and to reward the feeling of space and brightness in the interior, which is also very very practical. The result is innovative, but not gratuitous. I am happy with what has been achieved outside and inside.”
