Ice 70 RS

Description

Ice 70 RS

The Ice 70 RS, developed by Umberto Felci’s studio together with the shipyard’s technical staff, is a fast cruiser with incredible space utilization, beautiful lines and modern interior design. It is the big brother and natural evolution of Ice 52. Compared with the classic Ice 70, it has a carbon rudder and a lightened interior. The water lines and appendages are, unlike the classic Ice 70, characterized by a variable draft due to Cariboni’s hydraulically liftable keel that provides a draft from 2.80 meters to about 4.40 m and are designed for great performance.

Ice 70 RS – Exterior

The water lines and appendages are, unlike the standard ICE 70, characterized by variable draft due to the liftable keel with Carboni hydraulics that provides a draft from 2.80 meters to about 4.40m and are designed for great performance. Refined hydrodynamics that will also be felt in motor sailing, where with the 200 horsepower it reaches and exceeds 11 knots at cruising speed. Hull construction is carbon glass, all-carbon deck, as well as water and diesel tanks, and lightened interior. The shell and deck are laminated in infusion from female mold using carbon fibers; the structures, strictly carbo, are laminated in place and also made in infusion, becoming one with the hull and deck, eliminating creaking and noise. In addition to classic bonding, the deck is glued to the hull as well as all bulkheads, creating a monolithic and very rigid structure. The standard carbon mast is equipped with a park avenue boom that is very useful for further simplifying things both while sailing and when you are about to reduce or lower the sails. Overall, the construction solutions implemented in the RS version result in weight savings of more than a ton compared to the classic version of the ICE 70.

Interior

Thanks to the use of lightened panels, the site achieved significant weight savings compared to a traditional construction, without sacrificing the quality of the carpentry work, both in the refinement of the finishes and the excellence of the details. The interiors are planned in the version with 4 cabins, 3 bathrooms, and a large open kitchen. Interesting is the solution for the kitchen, which, being positioned further forward than the dinette, practically has a dedicated space almost separate from the rest of the rooms. The interior height in the dinette is well over 2 meters, a detail that gives an important feeling of space; although the deckhouse is low on the deck, the boat’s freeboard is still pronounced, although well disguised by the sporty silouette. Super soundproofed engine room with double seals on doors. The large garage, a record in its class and nearly on a level with that of an 80-footer, is designed to hold an inflated 3.8-meter tender. Two electric winches are provided in the garage for opening the hatch and moving the tender, again with comfort and ease of use in mind. All in all, nothing is lacking even for a true luxury cruise.
