Lagoon 52

An innovative and incomparable catamaran

The Lagoon 52 marks a new milestone in the design of cruising catamarans, as was also the case with its predecessor, the famous 500. If the vertical beams with their “diamond” look, the bevelled shapes of the hulls, the supporting roof and the slender rig of the Lagoon 52 give a glimpse of the vessel’s decisive personality, the innovations do not stop at the look of the exterior and interior.

Description

This new Lagoon 52 is in fact the result of in-depth joint reflections by architects Van Peteghem-Lauriot Prévost (VPLP), the Italian firm Nauta Design and the Lagoon design office. The important and sometimes radical choices that these reflections have led to, reflect the brand’s belief in elegance, comfort, safety, ease of use and of course… performance when sailing.

The decision to retract the mast, which comes directly from Studio VPLP’s vast experience in racing, also brings significant advantages for a cruising catamaran: a large triangle at the bow for a greater choice of load-bearing sails. The shorter boom makes manoeuvring considerably easier. The mainsail, which is taller, makes the most of unperturbed winds for a significant gain in performance. The reorganisation of the rigging weights significantly reduces pitching.

Lagoon 52 – Exteriors

Easy and safe access thanks to open stern platforms. On deck, large walkways with integrated hatches. The cockpit, on the level of the interior saloon, has an exterior saloon and sun deck to starboard. The roof offers a more fluid and elegant silhouette and also a large solarium.

Lagoon 52 – Interiors

The saloon encloses the dining table to starboard, the large U-shaped galley to port and the chart table in the centre facing the sea. The “U”-shaped galley for maximum comfort at sea, equipped with large hobs, ample work surfaces and numerous compartments. Optimised circulation in the saloon, between the galley and the saloon. All the cabins offer a large double bed, several wardrobes for deep-sea sailing, and of course a private bathroom with separate shower. The cabins benefit from incomparable natural light thanks to the large fixed windows on the hulls, and excellent ventilation thanks to the hatches and opening portholes on the hulls.
