Description
ADVANCED A66 – THE MARRIAGE OF PERFORMANCE AND DESIGN
A 20-meter ultra-high-performance boat with the soul of a superyacht and a variety of interior customization options, the realization of the first boat of Advanced Yachts is owed to two of the world’s top design firms-Nauta Design of Massimo Gino and Mario Pedol and Jim Pugh and John Reichel of the eponymous California firm. These are the key features ofAdvanced A66 according to Nauta Design: modernity, maneuverability, seduction. The hull has a new generation hull with large load-bearing volumes aft, and the hull’s aggressiveness is matched by deck geometries that communicate speed and efficiency. The almost “oversize” size of the cockpit invites relaxation of summer cruising, but the large glass surfaces of the deckhouse allow full enjoyment of sailing in any season. In the interior we find a cozy atmosphere with a large central open space that gets light from continuous 360-degree fenestration.

According to Reichel and Pugh, the goal in designing this hull was to combine stability and performance with large volumes. The rudder shape and fin section are the result of the development of the latest research to achieve speed and high performance and allow the helmsman perfect control of the boat and ease of operation in all types of sailing and weather conditions. An elegant teak deck and an ultra-modern, designer deckhouse, complemented by two coamings that protect the cockpit seating, characterize the geometry of the deck. The rationality of the current maneuver control system allows for ease of use under sail even with a small crew. in the design of this hull the yacht is modern, spacious and comfortable, the significant width at the maximum beam that continues continuously to the stern allows for a salon area of unusual size for a vessel of this size. The combination of these elements and the use of the most advanced technologies has resulted in an aesthetically incomparable design with incredible sailing performance combined with extraordinary ease of use.
The exteriors of Advanced A66
Elegance and high design content in pure Italian style make this high quality boat truly unique.The careful study carried out on the deck plan has made it possible to concentrate all the maneuvers in a well-collected and organized command area. The centralized instrumentation console allows all necessary information and controls to be immediately visible. Dual steering gears, four electric winches and electro-hydraulic mainsail traveller mark, without demarcating, the command and maneuvering area; everything is at your fingertips to make sailing easy and safe.
The two large sofas and a large central table make the cockpit a true outdoor living room, perfectly enjoyable and safe even while sailing because it is totally free of clutter. The center table can seat up to ten people and can be converted into a large sunbathing area. Two large and comfortable chaise lounges furnish the aft area, creating a wonderful terrace overlooking the sea. A wide retractable ladder provides a safe and convenient descent to the stern beach, from which to dive directly into the sea. A number of handy side compartments allow stowing, for example, all diving and water sports equipment, as well as housing a useful shower.
Interiors
The new design concept, thanks to an elegant semi-raised saloon and state-of-the-art water lines, allowed for interior volumes exceeding those found on much larger vessels. The staircase leading from the cockpit to the dinette is spacious and shallowly sloped in order to make access to the below-deck area easier and safer.
A fully glazed, front-opening deckhouse provides a 360-degree view of the sea and incredibly natural light and ventilation. Thanks to the semi-raised saloon concept, it is possible to admire the horizon from inside one’s boat, as if from a window in a seaside villa. The large and spacious master cabin full of compartments, drawers and closets is completed with a master bathroom with a 120-centimeter shower.
