The Wally Power 118, known as Galeocerdo, is one of the most famous yachts in the world. It was the boat that marked Wally’s debut in the world of motorboats. A very special debut as told by the founder of Wally in this super interview – watch it here – that you can find at Milano Yachting Week – The digital Boat Show. Not only in design, but also in performance, the Galeocerdo is a unique boat: a thoroughbred of 60 knots over 35 meters long.
This super boat is now for sale at Burgess Yachts.
Galeocerdo, the Wally Power 118 is for sale
The Wally Power 118, Galeocerdo, was the first project of the Wally Power era, the one with which the shipyard began to look at the engine and not only at sailing. A futuristic yacht that brought with it a whole series of innovations that anticipated by at least a decade a whole series of features that today we find on standard motor boats all over the world. Essential lines, complete cleanliness in design and a central use of glass. But it is not only the windows that are important in size, but also the foldable walls and the bow cockpit contribute to make this boat a center of experimentation that has left an indelible mark in the boating industry. Everything is explained in this video-interview to Luca Bassani that also allows you to better understand where motor boats were born today.
Wally Power 118: powerful and at the top of technology for 18 years
In this photo we see the WallyPower 118 in 2002 and its collapsible walls. This feature is now central in many motor boats. It is in fact one of the trends that are most influencing the design and liveability of motorboats. And it is starting from this 36-meter custom built today up to a 9-meter mass-produced like the Beneteau Flyer 9 (click here to see it). This is just one of the many insights of Luca Bassani and Wally, that today the boating industry has assimilated, making them its own: look at them all here, in the beautiful story-interview to Luca Bassani.
