Grand Soleil 34

The legendary Grand Soleil 34 is, in the opinion of many, a legend; designed by Finot in the 1970s, it remained in production until the 1980s and about 300 hulls were built. Today, past and future meet again at the Cantiere del Pardo, with a new Grand Soleil 34 model based on the same concept of a small-large boat with more modern shapes and faster speed equipped with ample space, comfort and high quality.

The design of the Grand Soleil 34 is dedicated to owners who enjoy fun, sport cruising and offshore racing, and was inspired by ocean openers. Extremely careful design and naval architecture have resulted in an offshore racing boat that is easy to maneuver and has the highest possible performance, but at the same time maintains the comfort of a fast cruiser. The new GS 34 Performance was made for offshore racing with an IRC rating system and also in ORC with appropriate optimization of the sail plan and appendages. In this way, the boat can become competitive in both international offshore and stick racing tonnage regulations. Speed, style and elegance complete the DNA of the product that echoes the family feeling of the flagship GS 58 Performance.

Grand Soleil 34: that recognizable, eye-catching design

The deck of the GS 34 combines the main features of the entire performance range, thanks to long windows and a wide stern that make this Small Grand Soleil, an easily recognizable and eye-catching boat. The deck plan is designed primarily to facilitate solo or small crew maneuvering, whether cruising or racing. Simple technical solutions have been well integrated with the aesthetics of the deck, and this excellent combination has resulted in a large cockpit, a clean and spacious deck, excellent performance and speed during racing, and ease of handling while cruising.

2 deck versions are available: standard deck provides tiller rudder, mainsail sheet cross carriage adjustable by hoist, is located aft, and is widely used by those who enjoy Offshore racing in small crew. Instead, the optional deck plan provides a double-wheel steering system with mainsail traveller forward of the wheels.

The hull and deck are made of fiberglass sandwich, with a PVC foam of different densities: they are composed of biaxial and unidirectional reinforcements, impregnated with vinylester resin. Both are laminated in a female mold. Externally they are finished in gelcoat but can also be painted at the customer’s request. In addition, the deck stay only with anti-slip, or upon request, it can have natural or synthetic teak.

Grand Soleil 34: well organized in cruising and racing

The interior layout is divided into 2 cabins: a port stern cabin and a forward master cabin, which can be converted into a calavele, during regattas. A spacious bathroom is located aft on the right and just behind it is a large locker. A large dinette, with a central table and broadside seating, can become additional bunks if necessary (folding down in regatta). The chartroom, which can be well equipped, is on the starboard side, opposite the L-shaped galley that has a sink, a generous refrigerator, and a 2-burner tilting stove.
